“Coming Out Day” in California Elementary School

This is just SCARY!
City: Hayward, CA
October 22, 2008
Parents at a K-8 charter school in Hayward were shocked to learn this week the extent to which their school is promoting gay and lesbian ideals to their daughter in kindergarten.

The parents were shocked to see a poster announcing that “Coming Out Day” will be celebrated at the school this coming Thursday, October 23. The school, Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science, chose not to tell parents ahead of time, but it is in the midst of celebrating “Ally Week,” a pro-homosexual push typically aimed at high school students. When one mother asked her daughter earlier this week what she was learning in kindergarten at the school, the 5-year-old replied, “We’re learning to be allies.” The mother also learned that her daughter’s kindergarten classroom is regularly used during lunchtime for meetings of a Gay Straight Alliance club.

Later this week, the school is slated to talk about families. The parents have noticed several posters promoting families, all of which depict only homosexual families. More controversial discussions can be expected through next week, as the elementary school continues to celebrate Gay and Lesbian History Month. On November 20, the school will host TransAction Gender-Bender Read-Aloud, where students will hear adapted tales such as “Jane and the Beanstalk.”

These parents are being advised by attorneys from Pacific Justice Institute. Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, “Do we need any further proof that gay activists will target children as early as possible? Opponents of traditional marriage keep telling us that Prop. 8 has nothing to do with education. In reality, they want to push the gay lifestyle on kindergartners, and we can only imagine how much worse it will be if Prop. 8 is defeated. This is not a scenario most Californians want replayed in their elementary schools.”

The Pacific Justice Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) legal defense organization specializing in the defense of religious freedom, parental rights, and other civil liberties.

Prop 8 Blacklists

So today I find out that my blog is on a so called “blacklist” for the No on 8 campaign, as well as many others.  They are driving folks to our blogs to submit horrible comments.  How sad, truly sad.  Why is it that many activists are crying out for peace but they themselves are so incredibly angry?  How do they expect there to be peace?

This is an amazing battle we are experiencing.  Yes, everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions and even entitled to share them with anyone who will listen.  I appreciate the so called “blacklist”.  Thank you for driving more and more people to my blog.  All you ever read on this blog are positive comments.  I am not angry, I too want peace.

The issue of marriage is a personal choice.  It should be a sacred blessing.  So why on earth are we fighting over trying to change that?  Again, the ones crying for peace are the ones trying to change something that has been designed from the beginning of time.  And yes, there was a “beginning of time”.  We didn’t just simply appear.  Each of us is born into this world as natural as it should be.

Same-gender people are people too, agreed.  We are not afraid of you, we are not scared of you.  You can be annoying at times, but we, for the most part, are willing to just let you be.  It’s only when you feel the need to get up in our faces because you feel like you are not being seen or heard that we then have to stand up for our own values and morals.  Why can’t everyone just live in this world and JUST BE!   Yeah, yeah, that sounds melancholy, I know, but will it ever happen?

Fight a Good Fight

Oh my golly! Is anyone else ready for this to be done and over with? I know how important this is to our future. I know we are fighting a good fight. I also know how draining this can be both physically and emotionally. I’m not giving up… NEVER! And believe me, I KNOW this will not be over come Nov 4th.

I’m pretty sure that I would not have made it back in the early years of this country.  I am proud to be an American.  I am proud of my heritage.  I am extremely proud and eternally grateful to ALL of those who have come before and made this country what it is today.  I am, however, very fearful of what this country is heading towards.  WE THE PEOPLE… We live in this wonderful country to have a voice, to be heard.  I am so proud of the work and efforts being done across the country, but mostly here in California, to help preserve the natural, beautiful, respectful, and true union of marriage.

There are some great videos being posted about this wonderful union.  THANK YOU!

I will continue to fight this great fight.  I am encouraged by those of you who are so strong and stand firm for this cause of protecting marriage.  The countdown is on, and it’s going to be brutal.  There are a lot of angry people out there, ready to tear us down and rip us apart.  We will be UNITED in our efforts.  Carry on…

Support YES on Prop 8

It’s been a few days since I have written on my own blog.  I have been caught up in the disputes with watching some of the videos and reading some of the other blogs.  Obviously, I need to focus on the positive, the right and true issues.  Although, in saying those words… “right and true”, I suppose that applies to individual beliefs.

I understand how we are all taught differently, or at least we all learn differently from one another.  I hope this makes sense.  Even in under the same roof, in the same family with a mother and a father raising a family of say four children.  Regardless of male or female, each child perceives things completely different from the other.

We are all individuals living in a world so incredibly diverse.  I am grateful for my upbringing, for my strong foundation in my beliefs.  Yes, I wish others I acquaint with had the same beliefs, but I also understand that each of us is different.  Even with those who do believe in what I believe, even they have their own views.  Is this sounding profound?

In any case, I am in complete support of Prop 8.  I wish we didn’t have to get this far as to have to vote on something that should be so natural.  I am a God-fearing daughter of a loving Heavenly Father.  I know I am created in the image of God.  I know why I am here in this world, at this time, with my family.  This is my test.  I know what is asked of me to do, to live and abide by the laws and ordinances set before me.  I need to choose what I feel is right and true, according to those laws and ordinances.

I’m not here to do these things all by myself.  I have a comforter to guide and assist me in times of turmoil and grief.  I know that I will be able to overcome any trial set before me because I know I won’t be given anything that I won’t be able to overcome.  It won’t be easy, I’m not saying that.  I know I will have and have had many trials in my life.  It will be my choice to overcome or to dwell.

May we all continue to be good citizens, good people, good friends, good family members.

What Rights are being Denied?

This was a great article I came across.  It’s genuine and to the point.  Yes, the guy is a lawyer, but he explains things very well.

Here’s the thing, when I went in to see some of the comments about this article, I was frustrated with two of them, and you’ll know which two when you read them.  So, I wrote back.  It is extremely hard to try and understand how some people think about who we are, meaning humans in general.  But I must remember that there has been a veil placed between us and what we used to know.  Now all we have is our own faith and feelings to believe in what we have been taught about who we are, where we came from and where we are going.  Even that, I suppose is completely foreign to some people.

Why We MUST Continue to Fight

WOW!  I know California is not the most conservative state in the nation.  BUT, are there really that many more people who have become corrupt and have lost ALL values for life?  I refuse to believe that there are not at least 51% of us Californians willing to STAND for what we believe to be RIGHT and TRUE.

I saw the best movie yesterday, “Forever Strong”.  Now, I’ve seen movies like this before… bad kid has tragic accident, goes to jail, meets good people, changes his ways, becomes the best that he can be.  BUT, I have never seen a movie like this without ANY bad language or sexual content… NONE!  How refreshing.  I would LOVE to get every young man and young woman ages 14-21 in the same room to watch this fantastic movie.  Are there people like that in this world today?  I have to believe there are.

We have a HUGE battle set before us, and yes this is just ONE of the MANY battles yet to come.  WE MUST CONTINUE TO FIGHT.  We mustn’t give up hope.  Hope for the future, hope for our children, hope for their children.  We must NOT become content with the world around us.  We can make a difference, we must.

Please stand with me in fighting for families throughout the world.  It’s not just about California anymore.  It’s our right for happiness.

Consequences to allowing same-sex marriage

In Boston, MA (where gay marriages are now legal,) the
Catholic Charities have closed their doors because the state has
required them to allow adoptions to same sex couples, and they refused. They are a large and worthwhile charity with great power in the state and they were overruled.

A Methodist church has lost their tax exempt status because the minister refused to perform a marriage of a same sex couple (they were not of his congregation).

A physician who refused to do fertility treatments on a same sex couple because of religious reasons was sued, lost and the state is requiring him to treat everyone as equals.

Our schools will be required to teach, starting in kindergarten, that
marriages make up many different combinations. The consequences are

Directly tied into ALL of this is our right to continue to go to the
Temple. If Gay Marriage is supported by the government, then those who are same-sex married, who are ‘LDS’ and legally recognized as married by the government, can sue to be married in the temple. It is my opinion that the church will not bend on this issue, and our rights to go to the temple will be in jeopardy.

AND goodbye to those religious tax-deductions… Tithing, fast offerings, etc. We will lose our tax-exemption status if the government legally forces the church to support same-sex marriage.

These effects are far-reaching! I hope no one is upset by this email, I
would not want to offend anyone, but I believe this issue is not a
poli tical issue at all, but a moral issue that affects all of society.

The Proclamation on the family clearly gives a warning voice on this matter.
I pray that this issue on the ballots will overturn the gay marriages
occurring right now in that state, and help prevent other states from
adopting this stance. I believe that it is important to support and defend traditional marriage, home and family.

Another friend says that her relatives in Sweden are even watching what
goes on in California. Friends in Canada are watching.

What is ACORN?

OK, I know this is primarily supposed to be about Prop 8 and all the good and positive things about family.  However, I have recently come across some very interesting information about one of our presidential candidates.

What is ACORN? (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now).  Without trying to re-write the entire article, please go to this link and read for yourself,
I am scared to death about what will happen after this election on November 4th. I am even more scared about what the future holds for my children and their families. We don’t necessarily have a lot, but we survive and make due with what we do have. Are we saving money? We are certainly trying. Obviously, with our 401K, that’s not helping much at the moment. Will the Country be able to overcome and thrive once again? I do not see a clear picture.
God bless us!
